The best metronome
Recently I had the chance to discover the Boss DB-88 ‘Doctor Beat’ Metronome. Whats so great about this piece of equipment is that it will actually count in a human voice. This is essential for my drummers who are learning how to count out their rhythms. When you learn play using ‘triggers’ it important to hear the count out loud (and not in your head). Additionally, this metronome is LOUD.. great for a drummer. Of course, it has a volume, so it doesn’t have to be loud all the time.

A word on buying locally. I am aware of the cost savings of buying instruments online (I do it myself). However, I make it a point to buy something from the local stores when I can. Can you imagine what it would be like if there were no music stores? It’s what will happen if you don’t support them. When you buy from a local store, you are also paying for the customer service and the expertise of the people who run them (all the music stores in our area have owner/musicians).
